Then Contracting.com gives him a simple next step:

“That’s exactly why we created The 6 Levels of a Contracting Business – a simple PDF guide…”

The ad goes on to spell out what’s inside:

  • When to hire your next employee

  • How to earn more without sacrificing nights and weekends

  • What systems to install (and when)

  • The roadmap to scaling from $0 to $100M+

And the CTA is crystal clear:

“Click Download, drop in your info, and we’ll send it your way.”

That matters, because the ad is not setting up a workshop, a consult, or a founder story. It is very clearly setting up a free PDF download–a practical framework the contractor can grab right now.

That’s why the landing page mismatch matters. The problem is not that the LP stops offering a free PDF. It still does. The problem is that the story around that PDF changes too much, too early.
